This week's recap of the Juicebox ecosystem

Welcome to this week's edition of Juicenews, the juiciest newsletter to keep you up-to-date about everything happening in the Juicebox ecosystem. Each week we’ll include a mix of project and governance recaps, recent podcast episodes and blog articles, and video tutorials.

Trending projects on Juicebox 📈

A fundraiser started by @CupOJoseph successfully raised $10k USD in ETH to send Gabriel Haines to the Bahamas to investigate the ongoing SBF situation in the wake of FTX's collapse. You might know Gabriel for his yelling videos where he often appears shirtless and wielding a machete. Contributors to the project can receive a Detective Gabe NFT (edition of 100) for 0.1 ETH.

Campfire, the music creators' guild and community for creatives, has so far raised over $4k USD in ETH for an IRL event at Miami Art Basel. This will take the form of a creative space for artists to come together and collaborate in a studio setting, with all music created being minted to the blockchain. Sessions will also be live streamed and token gated.

The ConstitutionDAO retrospective pod continues later this week 📜

Part 2 will be released later this week and will cover the aftermath of the auction, Ken Griffin's role in the story, winding down the DAO, $PEOPLE price action, internal conflicts, big picture reflections, and so much more.

If you haven't listened to part 1 yet, check it out on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

In part 1 of this retrospective series, Matthew and Brileigh trace the chronology of the events that took place from early murmurs up until the auction at Sotheby’s. They cover the history and significance of the Constitution itself, potential venues for where the document could have been displayed, and how the campaign managed to raise over 11.5k ETH in seven days. Make sure to listen to the end for the crazy story of the hours leading up to the auction, a $46MM USD OTC swap, and how the DAO almost wasn't able to bid at the auction.

Ep. 15 - ConstitutionDAO Retrospective Pt. 1

Listen to this episode from The Juicecast on Spotify. In this special series of the Juicecast, in celebration of the 1-year anniversary of ConstitutionDAO, Matthew and Brileigh are joined by several former core members including Graham Novak, Alice Ma, Jonah Erlich, Ittai Svidler, and Jon Hillis. ConstitutionDAO was a single purpose acquisition DAO that raised over $40M in an attempt to buy one of the last thirteen remaining copies of the U.S. Constitution at Sotheby’s on November 18th, 2021. What started as a joke in a group chat onboarding thousands into crypto and gave the world a glimpse of the power of blockchain technology, decentralization, and new forms of governance. In this episode, Matthew and Brileigh trace the chronology of the events that took place from conception up until the auction at Sotheby’s. They also cover the history and significance of the Constitution itself, suggestions for where the document could have been displayed, as well as a last minute request from Sotheby’s that almost prevented the DAO from being able to bid at the auction.
